Welcome to my journey of natural and homemade cleaning products. This is the second part of my journey. Check out this post, if you would like the Bathroom Edition. In this post, I have all of my natural home cleaning products: living room edition, plus a free PDF download of all of the products listed.

I reuse old spray bottles for most of my cleaning products, or if I’m out of old spray bottles, I go to the dollar store and buy cheap, spray bottles from there. I have found that labeling them with a sharpie works best instead of trying to apply a label to them that will probably get wet and come off, unless you want to spend the money to buy waterproof labels, but I’m all about saving money, so a sharpie works for me.

All- Purpose Cleaner

  • 1/4 cup white distilled vinegar
  • 12-20 drops essential oil
  • 1 tsp castile soap
  • 2 cups boiled or distilled water

fill a cleaning spray bottle with all of the ingredients. Shake Well.

Wood Cleaner

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice

Mix together and spray onto wood surfaces.

Air Freshener

  • 1 bunch of fresh sage leaves
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 cup white distilled vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Add hot water (not boiling) into a glass spray bottle. Break up the sage leaves, to release the oils and then add them to the hot water. Next, add the white distilled vinegar. Set the bottle in a cool, dark place. Let the sage seep in the vinegar solution overnight.

The sage leaves will start turning brown, after a day. This is natural and means the leaves are breaking down into smaller particles in the vinegar solution.

Dusting Spray

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup white distilled vinegar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1-2 drops of dish soap

Mix all of the ingredients together, gently, into a spray bottle. Spray onto dusty surface and wipe away.

Dry Carpet Cleaner

  • 2 cups baking soda
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 1 tbsp whole clove
  • 1 tbsp borax

Add all of the ingredients together, into a blender. Pulse on low until everything is an even consistency. Pour into a sprinkle top container. Sprinkle over carpet and let sit for 2 hours before vacuuming up.

Carpet Stain Remover

  • 3/4 cups hydrogen peroxide
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp dish soap

Mix all of the ingredients together and scrub into the carpet with a sponge or a cloth until the stain is gone.

Carpet Shampooer Solution

  • 2 cups vinegar
  • 1 cup hydrogen peroxide
  • 2 tbsp dish soap

Mix all of the ingredients together and add to the hot water.
