Do you or your kids love oatmeal packets? Buying commercial packets can be very costly and have toxic chemicals in them. These oatmeal packets are cost effective and super easy to make.

What are Oatmeal Packets?

Oatmeal packets are instant oatmeal that already has your customizable flavor in them. They are extremely easy to make. When you are ready to use them just pour your packet into a bowl add milk or water and heat for 45 seconds to 1 minute.

When are Oatmeal Packets Ideal?

These oatmeal packets are premade, so you can easily store them in your pantry to use at any time. They are great for busy mornings where you don’t have much time on your hands.

How Can I Customize My Oatmeal Packets?

After you have your main ingredients mixed together, you can easily add in whatever flavors you like. I like to separate my oatmeal into packets before I add in the different flavor combinations. It is very simple to mix and match how you would like your oatmeal to taste. My personal favorites are:

  • Peanut Butter: 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter powder
  • Cinnamon: 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Chocolate Chip: 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips
  • Coconut: 1 tablespoons of coconut flakes
  • Apple Cinnamon: 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon with 1/4 cup of dried apples
  • Cinnamon Raisin: 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon with 2 tablespoons of raisins

What Ingredients Do I Need?

  • 10 cups of rolled oats
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 2 cups of brown sugar
  • 1 cup powder creamer
  • snack sized ziploc bags
  • a blender
  • add-ins

How Do I Make the Packets?

In a blender, add 3 cups of rolled oats and blend into powder. Next, pour the powder into a large mixing bowl and add the other 7 cups of rolled oats. Then, add 2 teaspoon of salt, 2 cups of brown sugar and 1 cup of powdered creamer. Mix all of these ingredients together well. Scoop 1/2 cup of the mix into snack sized Ziploc bags. This will make approximately 18 packets. Once you have all of the oatmeal mix in baggies, you can either add in your favorite add-in combinations or leave it plain.

How Do I Cook the Oatmeal?

Cooking is the easiest part! Pour however many packets you would like, into a bowl. Add your choice of water or milk and place it in the microwave for 45 seconds to 1 minute. Voila! Your ready to eat your oatmeal.
